KDF honours Harambee Stars forward Boniface Muchiri for excellence on, off the field

Kenyan Premier League (KPL) star and Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer, Boniface Muchiri, is celebrating a dual triumph, having been honoured with the prestigious KDF Day Award just a day after scoring a crucial goal for his club, Ulinzi Stars FC.

Muchiri, a forward for the military-backed club and a vital player for the Harambee Stars (Kenya's National Football Team), received the accolade from the Kenya Army Headquarters.

Dressed sharply in his military fatigues, the star forward took to social media to share moments from his proudest milestone yet.

"I received my KDF Day award from the Kenya Army Headquarters, a moment of pride and gratitude,” Muchiri wrote.

“This recognition reminds me of the value of consistency, resilience, and commitment in every duty entrusted to us. I am grateful to God, to the Kenya Defence Forces for the honor, and to everyone who continues to inspire excellence both in service and beyond. Discipline, teamwork, and sacrifice will always remain the pillars that keep us moving forward.”

The award is a formal recognition of the commitment and discipline that have defined his career, both in service and on the football pitch.

Muchiri has been an instrumental figure for the Harambee Stars, particularly capturing national attention with his electrifying performance during the African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament.

Acknowledged as a crucial attacker and a dedicated professional, his career successfully navigates the demands of military service and top-flight professional football with remarkable ease.

This latest recognition only serves to underscore the high value placed on his dual commitment to the nation, wearing both the military badge and the national team's jersey with honour.

The KDF award was perfectly timed, coming right on the heels of another display of his clinical finishing in the Kenyan Premier League.

Muchiri continued his hot streak on the pitch by netting a stunning goal for Ulinzi Stars against perennial rivals Gor Mahia FC in a tightly contested KPL clash that ultimately finished in a 1-1 draw.
