A dramatic high-speed chase unfolded in Ngumba Estate, Nairobi, after a Subaru driver allegedly fled the scene of an accident in which a motorcycle was knocked down, prompting a pursuit by a group of boda boda riders.
The driver of the Subaru, registration KCB 874R, reportedly sped away moments after the collision, apparently fearing retaliation amid a growing trend of boda boda riders attacking motorists and torching vehicles involved in crashes.
A two-minute, 37-second video recorded by one of the pursuing riders and widely shared on social media shows the Subaru being chased through the estate at high speed.

In the footage, the vehicle appears to drag the damaged motorcycle for nearly 200 metres while weaving through traffic, endangering other road users.
The video also captures one of the vehicle's occupants jumping out while the car was still moving, seemingly in an attempt to escape.
"Look at this guy!" said a voice behind the camera as pedestrians and onlookers hurriedly rushed towards the car.
It remains unclear whether the driver was eventually apprehended, as the footage ends after the vehicle reaches what appears to be a rough dead-end road.
Police had not issued an official statement by the time of publication, and the condition of the motorcycle rider was not immediately known.
Online, however, some seemed to side with the Subaru driver, citing the uncontrolled rage associated with boda boda riders at accident scenes.
"He has a right to flee from them. Those boda boda guys are beasts when you accidentally hit one of them. They will either kill you or burn your vehicle. Let the guy report to the nearest police station even though his passenger was not patient enough," wrote Ogolla on X.
"He did the right thing; it’s better to negotiate with boda guys at the police station than at the scene, because they are rogue and uncivilised," wrote Caron.
The incident comes as the government and transport sector stakeholders continue to urge boda boda riders to exercise restraint and avoid taking the law into their own hands by attacking motorists or setting vehicles on fire following road accidents.
