Marya Prude reveals she lost NGO deal after video about ex-husband Willis Raburu's breakup

Marya Prude says NGO withdrew mental-health deal after her video reacting to Raburu’s breakup.

Willis Raburu’s ex-wife, Marya Prude Irungu has revealed via her social media pages that a certain NGO pulled out of from a planned mental-health campaign deal with her after she posted a video 'shading' the announcement about her ex husband's break up with his baby mama, Ivy Namu, provoking mixed public reaction.

Prude, who has been open about her own battle with depression following a miscarriage and the end of her marriage, said she does not regret speaking out and stands by her honesty.

She explained that during her darkest moments she received little support from people she expected would understand.

That lack of compassion, she said, shaped her decision to speak publicly. The video she made after news of her ex's break up with his baby mama exploded online, rubbing some people the wrong way.

In her defense, Marya explains that the video was intended to highlight personal struggles and public reactions, instead, it drew criticism.

Prude framed the fallout as regrettable but not remorseful. Still, she emphasized that her priority remains giving voice to those who suffer in silence and pushing for more empathy in conversations around depression and loss.

Marya and Raburu divorced in 2020 after three years of marriage, following the tragic loss of their newborn daughter.

The bereavement placed immense strain on their marriage, with Raburu later admitting he had "lost touch" with the relationship before filing for divorce.

Following the separation, Raburu began dating Ivy Namu, and the couple welcomed two children together.

However, Namu recently confirmed via Instagram Stories that she and Raburu had parted ways, asking Kenyans to respect their privacy as they navigate the separation.

The split comes amid a wave of high-profile breakups involving Kenyan influencers and media personalities.
