Burna Boy has made history by becoming the first male artist to top Spotify's new Global Music Video Chart.

The Nigerian singer, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, achieved the milestone with his World Cup anthem "Dai Dai", a collaboration with Colombian superstar Shakira.

According to Daily Post Nigeria, the achievement also makes him the first African artist to reach number one on the chart.

"Dai Dai" is also gaining momentum on other major charts. This week, it climbed to a new peak of number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Following Burna Boy and Shakira's performance of the song during the FIFA World Cup final halftime show on Sunday, industry observers expect it to break into the Billboard top 10 next week.

On YouTube, "Dai Dai" is the most-streamed music video of 2026, with nearly 500 million views. The song has also reached number one on the Apple Music Global Songs Chart.

Beyond the success of "Dai Dai", Burna Boy has set a new record as the African artist with the most monthly listeners in Spotify history, surpassing 53 million monthly listeners.

He has also become the African artist with the highest monthly audience on YouTube Music, attracting more than 600 million monthly listeners.

According to PM News, the achievements highlight Burna Boy's growing global appeal and the worldwide success of "Dai Dai".

While the collaboration with Shakira helped expand the song's reach, its chart performance and streaming figures also reflect strong listener demand across multiple platforms.

The track continues to dominate global charts, cementing its status as one of 2026's biggest hits while setting new streaming milestones for Burna Boy.
