Actress Jackie Matubia has found herself at the centre of a public online spat with her former house manager after the pair exchanged accusations on social media.
The row began after Matubia revealed that her live-in nanny of six years had abruptly left without giving a reason.
Her former house manager, Brigid, responded with a series of posts, claiming she had been mistreated and dismissed while she was unwell.
"Anajua vizuri sana kwa nini nlitoka, alinifukuza. I was sick, nimekuwa nakohoa sana hata hanipeleki hospitali ananiambia niende nikohoe na huko," she said.
Matubia denied the allegations, defended her reputation and questioned the motives behind Brigid's claims.
"No matter how you treat them, they'll still treat you like you were nothing," Matubia said.
The public fallout has sparked debate online, with netizens divided over the allegations surrounding their working relationship.
Some criticised both parties for taking the dispute to social media, urging them to resolve the matter privately.
Others defended Matubia, citing her long-standing public profile as reason to reserve judgment, while supporters of the former house manager argued that allegations of workplace mistreatment should be taken seriously.
Among the reactions, @her._high_ness wrote, "Achaneni na Jackie."
@lawrenceluciana commented, "House managers are workers just like anyone else. They have the right to resign if they feel they are not being treated fairly or with respect. No one should be intimidated or forced to stay in a job where they are unhappy. Every worker deserves dignity, respect, and the freedom to make the best decision for themselves."
Meanwhile, @jovial_josephine posted, "Hard the nanny's side of story na I can't judge... Mimi niko neutral."
