Amid the chaos, Hassan caught the attention of viewers by raising both arms and crossing them into an "X" while facing Letexier. The referee appeared to ignore the gesture and allowed play to continue.

FIFA has not provided an official explanation for Hassan's booking, leaving the reason for the caution unclear.
