Oscar award-winning actressLupitaNyongó is set to share the same stage with her brother in this year's New York's Shakespeare in the Park.
The annual show produced at the renowned Public Theater, confirmed that Junior Nyong’o is among the star-studded cast of 'Twelfth Night' news that Lupita shared on her social media.
'I’m thrilled to reveal some midsummer madness to look forward to: my brother Junior Nyong'o and I will take the stage as TWINS in Twelfth Night,' she announced.
'I can genuinely say that we've been preparing for these roles all our lives! Don't miss our sibling revelry this summer as Viola and Sebastian when the show returns to the now revitalized Delacorte Theater from August 7 to September 14,' said the '12 Years a Slave' star who was the recipient of an Oscar for best supporting actress had previously been announced to lead the forthcoming production last July.
“Twelfth Night,” will be directed by Saheem Ali in a revival of Shakespeare’s classic romantic comedy about mistaken identities.
The star-studded production which also features Broadway alums Khris Davis, Daphne Rubin-Vega and Bill Camp, will serve as the main attraction at the beloved Delacorte Theater when it reopens in August after two years' closure due to renovations.
The play marks the first time the two siblings will star onstage together.
Though this could be a major feat in launching Junior Nyongó's career following in the steps of her elder sister, it is still however unclear whether their father Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyongó or other members of his family will be making special arrangements to attend the prestigious show.
Lupita was announced to lead the forthcoming production of Free Shakespeare in the Park last July.
Though he has featured in other productions previously, these will be Junior Nyongó's major production alongside other major figures though he had an early brush with fame at the 2014 Film Awards when he appeared in the viral selfie taken by host Ellen DeGeneres from the audience seats.
