A disturbing video capturing the moment a police officer in Nakuru kicked a moving motorcycle during a protest has drawn widespread condemnation from Kenyans.

The incident, which occurred in London Estate, Nakuru, shows anti-riot police dispersing demonstrators protesting against police brutality.

Amid the chaos, a boda boda ferrying a male rider and two female passengers approaches the police line.

Without warning, one of the officers kicked the moving motorbike, causing the rider to lose control.

The motorcycle veers off the road and crashes violently.

While the two women on board are seen scrambling to their feet, the rider remains motionless on the ground, seemingly injured.

Shockingly, police officers continued to hurl tear gas canisters at the scene, appearing unmoved by the unfolding emergency.

The viral footage has sparked intense public outrage, with many Kenyans demanding justice and accountability for what they describe as blatant abuse of power.

"These guys are just crazy! How do you do that to an unharmed individual going about their own business?" wrote one user, @TeRaiona254, on X (formerly Twitter). Another, @Mlesskigen_Art, lamented, "Vitu kama hizi ndio inafanyaga saa zingine unaclick mbele ya watu wanadhani uko stressed and depressed. This is very wrong."

@FrancisAsad commented, "Sad to see peacekeepers are the ones doing the inhuman acts," while @HusseinManick added, "As long as no action is taken against rogue police, we will always criticize the whole government because of their cover-up." @randomworldke warned, "This is a very bad month; they should watch out."

The protests were sparked by the fatal shooting of 35-year-old Duncan Nderitu, who was reportedly gunned down by police during a chaotic confrontation.

Nderitu is said to have been caught in the crossfire as police attempted to arrest a suspected drug dealer in the area.

Eyewitnesses claim that the situation escalated after residents confronted officers at the scene, leading police to fire warning shots into the air.

In the commotion, one officer allegedly shot Nderitu in the head.

Nakuru County Police Commander Michael Mwaura confirmed that the situation worsened when suspects resisted arrest.

In the wake of mounting public pressure, ten junior police officers have since been arrested and are being interrogated by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
