Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) co-founder Reverend Bishop Kathy Kiuna has shared an emotional tribute in honour of her late husband, Bishop Allan Kiuna, marking what would have been his 59th birthday; and their 31st wedding anniversary.

In a moving message posted alongside a photo and a compilation of the couple in their earlier years, Kathy reflected on grief, gratitude and the enduring legacy of the man she fondly called “my love.”

Her message captured the rawness of the journey she has walked since the passing of the influential preacher, who succumbed to cancer on July 9, 2024, while receiving treatment at a Nairobi hospital.

“Nobody ever prepares for this kind of situation, no one ever is ready enough,” she wrote.

“Even as I visit Bishop’s graveside I can truly say, thank You Jesus for the life he lived, the legacy that he left, the lives he affected, homes he changed, the mindset.”

Despite the pain, she emphasised deep gratitude for the life they shared:

“No matter how painful it is, I’m grateful that I knew him. I’m grateful that he was my husband. I can see and remember so many amazing memories.”

In her post, Kathy noted the significance of the day; a double commemoration of Allan’s birthday and their wedding anniversary:

“Today would have been his 59th birthday and my 31st wedding anniversary. God has been good and He does all things well. Even when it hurts so bad my answer to God is Yes. His mercy prevails over everything. Always in my heart my love. You did well. You loved deep and you showed us God.”

“Always in my heart,” she wrote — a vow now carried into the quiet spaces of remembrance

The heartfelt tribute quickly drew messages of support from congregants, fellow clergy and Kenyans who admired the couple’s ministry and public devotion to each other.

@cecilia_musyoki: Dad was the first preacher to preach to me and I listened without blinking, feeling sleepy or got distracted. That was in 2015,and when I went back home I could not stop thinking about JCC. It’s a long story, testimony. JCC became my home and church. Forever in our hearts

@Stellasalaton: I am grateful to God that he lived intentionally and did everything exceptionally well. His life speaks louder now in his presence with God in heaven. Sending you ? and lots of love! I am happy that you acknowledge all this with lots of hope and knowing that God indeed does all things well. Happy heavenly birthday to Him.

Bishop Allan Kiuna, founder of Jubilee Christian Church, was one of Kenya’s most recognisable pastors. His battle with cancer was widely publicised, especially after he declared himself cancer-free during a thanksgiving service in Nairobi on December 10, 2023.
