Motorsports fans are gearing up for an adrenaline-packed weekend as the World Safari Rally takes over Naivasha once again.
The event, known for its thrilling speeds, expert manoeuvres, and breathtaking landscapes, promises an unforgettable experience for both rally enthusiasts and party lovers.
As the roar of engines fills the air, Naivasha will transform into a festival of fun, blending fast cars, wildlife, and non-stop entertainment.
Revellers can expect an electric atmosphere, with nyama choma sizzling on grills, coolers packed with drinks, and music pumping through the night.
But the rally isn’t just about cars, it’s also about the wild celebrations that come with it.
Over the years, Naivasha has become synonymous with unbridled fun, and some adventurous fans have even taken things a notch higher by indulging in outdoor intimacy.
In 2024, approximately 500,000 condoms were made available for rally-goers in a campaign led by Stanley Ngara, popularly known as the King of Condoms.
The initiative aimed to promote safe sex and sexual health awareness during the high-energy event.
While there has been no official confirmation of this year's condom distribution numbers, Ngara and other health advocates continue to emphasise the importance of safe sex education, especially at events known for wild partying.
"Last year, we faced challenges with condom importation due to high taxation, but we still managed to provide half a million condoms for revellers. This year, we are working with our partners to ensure that those who need protection can access it," Ngara stated in a previous interview.
Apart from the heart-stopping action on the ground, fans can also look forward to the spectacular aerial coverage by skilled helicopter pilots and cameramen.
In previous editions, legendary rally cameraman Bart Van Aert, flying with Nanyuki-based Tropic Air, captured breathtaking moments that left fans in awe.
Videos of their high-speed chases through the rugged terrain went viral, with many Kenyans praising the pilots for their daring stunts and cinematic coverage of the race.
While the rally brings excitement, it also comes with its fair share of challenges, particularly traffic congestion.
As thousands of fans flock to Naivasha, motorists are urged to exercise patience and observe road safety rules.
Previously, reckless driving, overlapping, and gridlocks have caused frustrating delays.
Authorities and event organisers have always called on revellers to drive responsibly, reminding them that the rally should be about fun, speed, and safety, both on and off the track.
