A resurfaced video of controversial preacher James Ng’ang’a slapping a female churchgoer is making the rounds online, reigniting debates about his conduct in church.
The undated clip shows Ng’ang’a halting his sermon to strike a woman he claims had fallen asleep during the service.
“Umetoka wapi? Amka! Chukua mizigo yako!” he commands, ordering her to leave the church and return later.
He then adds, “Muweke kwa mvua anyeshewe kidogo,” instructing ushers to expose her to the rain, visibly agitated.

This incident has resurfaced just days after another viral video showed Ng’ang’a publicly berating—and physically striking—a male congregant for dozing off during service.
In that clip, the preacher walks from the pulpit to confront the man in the front row.
“Hii Kenya iko na mambo mingi sana, amka!” he exclaims before slapping him and sending him to the back of the church.
Ng’ang’a then turns to the woman seated next to the man and scolds her for not waking him up. “Na wewe kwa nini analala hapa na unamwona?”
Following backlash from the viral video, Ng’ang’a remained unapologetic, stating, “Niliona mkisema nilipiga mtu—nitawapiga na nitawatoa nje. Hata Yesu aliwatoa wote,” defending his actions.
The clips have once again sparked public scrutiny, with many questioning how the pastor continues to attract massive crowds despite his frequent controversies.
On X (formerly Twitter), Bernard Kavuli commented, “What’s even more astonishing is that church members are laughing and doing nothing. People worship Ng’ang’a like a god. That church should be shut down immediately!”
User @sammiesi echoed the sentiment, writing, “Why do people keep going to those places? It’s us who enable them!”
Others reacted with sarcasm, claiming “the hand of God” was behind the slap delivered by Ng’ang’a.
Still, many remain baffled by the preacher’s enduring popularity.
“And he still has thousands in his congregation. They laugh when he does these theatrics. They are the voters. Eeiiyy, we are done!” wrote @NimoWairimu01.
