Kenyan rap sensation Femi One is lighting up the global music scene once again, after making waves with her fiery verse on the remix of Baddie, a hit by Nigerian pop queen Yemi Alade, featuring Jamaican dancehall heavyweight Konshens, little birdie has it that she is hard at work, with some new songs on the way.
Femi’s bold, no-holds-barred delivery has turned heads and sparked trends across social media platforms, with fans praising her for staying true to her unique style while holding her own among international stars.
But that’s not the only reason Femi One is buzzing right now.
In a recent online post, the rapper pulled back the curtain on one of her proudest milestones—her groundbreaking single Pewa. The track, released under Kaka Empire, not only showcases her lyrical finesse and originality but also comes with a bit of trivia that made fans do a double take.
“Fun fact: Pewa is the first original solo single by a female rapper to hit one million views on YouTube in Africa,” she revealed. “Underline single (not a feature), underline original (that’s original flow, melody and beat).”
Produced by Jegede and with visuals directed by Steve Mugo, Pewa is more than just a catchy track—it’s a moment of history. And for Femi One, it’s another powerful reminder that she’s not just representing Kenya; she’s redefining what it means to be a female rapper on a continental, and now global, level.
From YouTube milestones to international collaborations, Femi One is proving that her voice isn’t just being heard—it’s being celebrated.
