Tanzanian music stars Diamond Platnumz and Zuchu returned home in grand style after welcoming their first child together, turning what would normally be a routine hospital discharge into a public celebration.

The couple, regarded by many fans as East African music royalty, left the hospital to cheering crowds, flashing cameras and a convoy of luxury vehicles.

Supporters gathered outside the hospital and on nearby balconies to catch a glimpse of the newborn.

Diamond, dressed in an all-black outfit with a fedora and dark sunglasses, carried the baby in a black infant carrier, while Zuchu walked beside him in a flowing white robe, holding his hand.

The pair headed to Diamond's signature blue Rolls-Royce Cullinan with an orange interior.

Diamond opened the passenger door for Zuchu before carefully placing the infant carrier inside.

Their convoy, which also included a black Cadillac Escalade and motorcycle escorts, drove through the city under a police-cleared route.

The homecoming followed months of speculation over Zuchu's pregnancy. Rumours first emerged late last year after fans noticed changes in her wardrobe and a reduced performance schedule.

Although the couple kept details private, anticipation continued to grow through subtle hints from family members and social media posts.

The baby is Zuchu's first child and marks a new chapter in the couple's widely followed relationship.

At Diamond's family home, the couple was welcomed by his mother, Bi Sandra, popularly known as Mama Dangote.

Dressed in a blue and green kitenge outfit with a matching headwrap, she embraced the family before Diamond handed her the baby.

She gently lifted the carrier's cover to look at the infant, wrapped in a white blanket, as relatives and well-wishers cheered and chanted, "Mwana kakua."

The family later gathered in the living room, where Diamond, Zuchu and Mama Dangote sat together on a plush sofa, admiring the newest member of the family.
