Priscilla Ojo laughs off FreeJumaJux hashtag after fans question musician's weight loss

Nigerian influencer and wife of Tanzanian musician Juma Jux, Priscilla Ojo, has reacted with humour to the viral #FreeJumaJux campaign, changing her Instagram bio to “Mrs Free Jux”.

The campaign started after fans noticed that Juma Jux looked much slimmer during a recent wedding.

Many social media users joked, while others appeared genuinely concerned, attributing his weight loss to his marriage to Priscilla and urging her to “leave their brother alone”.

The comments soon evolved into the trending #FreeJumaJux hashtag, with Tanzanian fans posting messages calling for Juma Jux to be “freed” from his marriage.

While some messages were clearly playful, others expressed genuine concern about the singer's appearance.

The conversation quickly gained traction, reaching social media users beyond Tanzania.

Taking to Instagram, Priscilla signalled that she was unfazed by the criticism.

She also told critics that her husband “loves it here”, a light-hearted response intended to calm the fuss and reassure fans that Juma Jux is happy in his marriage.

Juma Jux and his family have since explained his slimmer appearance, attributing it to regular workouts at the gym and a healthier lifestyle.

Pulse Nigeria reported the clarification, noting that his weight loss was not related to his marriage.

Juma and Ojo first crossed paths in early 2024 during a work trip in Rwanda, where a chance encounter at an airport quickly grew into a deep connection.

Their cross-continental relationship gained momentum after the pair made their romance official on social media later that year, frequently appearing in each other's music videos and posts.

By early 2025, the pair solidified their union through a series of ceremonies, including an Islamic Nikkah in Tanzania and a traditional wedding in Lagos.

Since tying the knot, their high-profile marriage has continued to draw extensive attention from fans across both West and East Africa.
