Silas Jakakimba names new luxury speedboat 'RAO-001' in honour of Raila Odinga

Silas Jakakimba, has announced the renaming of his latest acquisition, a 15-passenger luxury speedboat, to "The GI's RAO-001."

“IN HONOUR OF HE RAILA ODINGA, CGH. I have elected to name this 15 pax Luxury Tournament Tour & Sport Fishing Speedboat, The GI's RAO-001 instead of the earlier plans to name it MV DORINA-1,” he posted.

His decision comes as part of his broader vision to elevate eco-tourism on Lake Victoria, where his venture, The Little GI Resort on Mfangano Island, is set to expand with the forthcoming GI Eco-Resort and Spa.

"For experiences that become memories, this boat and our resorts will be unavoidable in your bucket lists," Jakakimba stated, inviting visitors to partake in luxury sport fishing and bespoke tours.

The announcement was accompanied by a video capturing Jakakimba and a companion inspecting the vessel's helm and seating during a recent trip to Durban, South Africa.

There, they confirmed that the boat, sourced from Tom Cat Boats SA, meets stringent safety, entertainment, and comfort specifications.

The video, shared on social media, showcases the boat's sleek design and the meticulous attention to detail.

This comes months after the city lawyer announced his separation from his spouse, Florence Adhiambo, in a statement shared on social media.

In an X post, Jakakimba said the decision was arrived at mutually, with support from close family and spiritual leaders.

“After careful consideration and much reflection, we – Silas Jakakimba and Florence Adhiambo – have made the difficult but in certain and often times extremely considerate decision to separate,” read part of the post.

“This decision was reached mutually and, with respect for one another, noting with deep appreciation and gratitude, the immense love and support from both sides of our Innermost Families and Spiritual Leaders as we sought to make this decision public.”
