Mugithi sensation Samidoh has been declared a deserter by the National Police Service (NPS) after going missing from duty for over 10 days.
In an official statement, the NPS revealed that Samuel Ndirangu Muchoki, popularly known as Samidoh, was granted off-duty leave and was expected back on May 27, but he never reported.
The service said they have no idea where the "Muthoniwa" hitmaker is, and efforts to trace him have been unsuccessful.
“Since the CMM, he has not been seen and his whereabouts is not known. Efforts to trace him have been futile,” read the statement.
According to the report, Samidoh has exceeded his official off-duty period and failed to follow the NPS protocol regarding leave extension.
“He has now absented himself without leave for a period of more than ten days and is hereby declared a deserter. Pay section will stop his salary with immediate effect,” the statement continued.
The celebrated officer-turned-singer, who served in the Anti-Stock Theft Unit, now faces disciplinary action, including possible arrest.
The police directed the Station Police Commander (Stapol) in Gatumbiro, Nyandarua, where Samidoh hails from, to visit his home and arrest him if found.
"Stockpol 'MTD COY, take the necessary action and act accordingly. CRO Nairobi, circulate in the next issue of the National Police Gazette. Stapol Gatumbiro, kindly visit his home and if traced, arrest him and inform this end for necessary action," the order read.
The development comes just days after the ‘Ndiri Mutwe’ singer posted a lighthearted photo with his US-based friend Saroni on Instagram.
The two were seen rocking matching T-shirts with the caption "Hi cousins," a phrase that recently trended after Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua used it to refer to the Kamba community during a public address.
Samidoh has been spending extended time abroad, recently wrapping up a tour in the UK before heading to the United States.
His social media has remained active, showing no signs of trouble, until now.
