According to the troupe's manager, Dauda Kavuma, the opportunity came after they submitted a choreography video to Shakira's management team. Their creativity and energetic dance routines reportedly impressed the singer's team, leading to an invitation that Kavuma described as "a dream come true" not only for Uganda but for the entire African continent.

“NYC, we are ready, Hello Uganda and Africa, this one is for you lets go’’

The performance will take place during the closing ceremony of the FIFA World Cup final at MetLife Stadium on July 19, where millions of football fans worldwide are expected to tune in.

The Ghetto Kids have become one of Africa's biggest dance success stories over the past decade. Founded by Ugandan choreographer Dauda Kavuma under the Triplets Ghetto Kids Foundation, the group gained global recognition through viral dance videos before captivating audiences on Britain's Got Talent, where they reached the finals.

They have since performed at international events, collaborated with global stars and used their platform to inspire vulnerable children through dance and education. Their latest achievement marks yet another chapter in an inspiring journey that continues to showcase African talent on the world stage.
