Reverend Kathy Kiuna was appointed Bishop of the Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) during a Sunday service this weekend.

The appointment comes just days after the death of her husband, Bishop Allan Kiuna, who passed away from cancer on July 9th.

During the service, Reverend Funke Felix-Adejumo, a visiting pastor from Nigeria, officiated the ceremony.

She praised Kathy's qualifications for the role, stating "We thank God for the people that ordained you."

Reverend Adejumo then addressed the congregation directly, saying "from today you shift into Bishop."

She clarified that a formal consecration ceremony would take place later, but from that moment on, "you are free to call her 'my bishop.'"

The ceremony also included a stern warning from Reverend Adejumo. She talked about the importance of respecting Kathy's new position as Bishop and told the congregation that anyone who disagreed with the decision or felt disrespectful towards the church leadership should leave and start their own church.

Quoting scripture from the Book of Ezra, Reverend Adejumo delivered a strong message: "Whoever shall alter this word, let timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be hanged."

She further elaborated, urging those who disagreed to not cause trouble or spread negativity.

"Don't bad mouth this ministry. Don't take any member along. Don't muddle the water that fed you. Just go and start by your own," she said.

Reverend Adejumo explained her presence in Kenya, saying "I was sent from Nigeria to come and warn you."

She offered a stark choice to those considering leaving: "If you want to exit because you loved Bishop, not lady Bishop, it's okay. We too we don't want you. Ungrateful people are not bad. They are evil. If you want to go, we say bye bye... Just carry your wife, and children and go... What our father left here is joy and unity."

Kathy Kiuna's appointment as Bishop comes just days after the burial of her husband, Allan Kiuna.

In her tribute to her late husband, Kathy Kiuna described him as a role model who showed immense love.

"Honey, I am trying to gather words to describe who you really were to me. I am still living in a dream and wish I could wake up to realize that is all it was - a dream. Yet in reality, you've gone to be with JESUS."

She also praised her husband's legacy, stating, "The kind of legacy you have left is for a man beyond your years. Many said you had speed; it is now clear why, from a young age you were intentional, purposeful, responsible and we, your family, are reaping the fruits of your diligence. The responsibility on your shoulders was so great yet you carried it with so much ease. I will always love you. May GOD make your crown even bigger because you did well. Till we meet again."
