Kenyan culinary maestro Chef Ali Mandhry is set to trade in his chef’s whites for the Hollywood spotlight. The celebrated chef and media personality has secured a role in an upcoming film slated for production later this year.

Known for his charm and ability to transform ordinary ingredients into extraordinary dishes, Mandhry has captured hearts across Kenya and beyond. His mastery of Swahili cuisine has earned him global recognition, making him a natural fit for the international stage.

Chef Ali, who is also the face of Nala Instant Noodles and Rina Vegetable Oil, will be travelling around the world for the film, including to Saudi Arabia, Oman, India, America, Australia, and South Africa.

“I am not officially supposed to give accurate details about the film since it is still in the pre-production phase,” says the chef, who recently returned from pilgrimage in Makkah and Washington, D.C., for more recce planning.

“My role in the film industry has transformed my entire look as well. Working with international productions has shaped my presence to another level,” he adds.

Mandhry’s star continues to rise. Recently, he was honoured as one of the 100 most influential people in the African food industry by the African Food Network.
