Kamene Goro admits lying about her 27-men body count, says it was campaign stunt

Media personality Kamene Goro has addressed lingering questions about her past remarks regarding her sexual history, saying a controversial statement she made in 2018 was not true.

At the time, Kamene claimed she had slept with 27 men, a statement that sparked widespread debate on social media.

Speaking to veteran journalist Alex Mwakideu, she said the figure was fabricated as part of a campaign on sexual health awareness.

“Hiyo story ya body count though was not true. Yes, I lied because it was to bait for a campaign on sexual health awareness. That was the number I was given to say,” she said.

Kamene, who is now married, added, “We unadhani ningekuwa na bwana kama ingekuwa hivo? Now the only number that matters is just one.”

At the time of the controversial remarks, Kamene was co-hosting a radio show with Andrew Kibe.

Her comment about the number of sexual partners became one of the most talked-about moments of her career, drawing intense attention online.

Reflecting on the episode, Kamene said she prefers to focus on lessons learned rather than dwell on her past media statements.

Her revelation has reignited conversation online. Some Kenyans expressed skepticism, while others supported her explanation.

On X, Collins questioned, “How is her body count related to the reproductive health campaign?”

Another user, Blitz Krieg, wrote, “What I decoded is, I regret revealing my body count. It's now haunting me and threatening my marriage.”

On Instagram, Mykey M questioned, “Like there is an organization somewhere in Kenya paying women influencers to claim they have high body counts to influence women to engage in wanton sex with many partners, in the name of 'sexual health awareness'. And we are not mad enough...”
