Tanzanian singer Zuchu has announced the end of her marriage to Bongo Flava star Diamond Platnumz.
The news, posted on her official Instagram page, confirmed that the couple had decided to part ways after six years together.
Zuchu, whose real name is Zuhura Othman, told her followers that she and Diamond Platnumz, born Naseeb Abdul, were no longer together.
Although she did not reveal the reason for the split, the singer asked fans to respect her privacy as she navigates the difficult period. She also said she would focus on her health, personal healing and career.
"As for me muda huu ni wa kupona na kufocus zaidi kwenye afya na kazi zangu."
She concluded her statement with the Islamic phrase, "Hasbunallahu wani'mal Wakeel," expressing her trust in God as she faces the next chapter of her life.
Her announcement came just hours after Diamond Platnumz's close friend and Tanzanian Member of Parliament Baba Levo claimed publicly that Zuchu is expecting a child.
The claim has added another layer of intrigue to the separation, although Zuchu neither confirmed nor addressed the pregnancy rumours in her statement.
Neither Zuchu nor Diamond has commented further on the claims.
The couple reportedly tied the knot in a private ceremony last year after years of an on-and-off relationship that frequently made headlines across East Africa.
Before confirming their marriage, Diamond often spoke warmly about Zuchu without clearly defining their relationship, leaving fans guessing about their status.
Their eventual wedding came as a surprise to many supporters who had closely followed their romance.
Diamond Platnumz has yet to issue a statement addressing the separation or responding to Zuchu's announcement.
