Police are investigating the death of a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer whose body was found in a guest room at Aston Villa Bar in the Pipeline area.
The body of Edward Gwako Nyabuti was discovered on February 28, after the bar manager, Moses Onyonka Nyamongo, reported the matter to Kware Police Station under Occurrence Book (OB) No. 03/28/02/2026.
Responding officers found Nyabuti lifeless in one of the guest rooms. Jane Wanjiku, a woman who had been in his company since February 20, was arrested at the scene. She identified herself to authorities as a “men’s entertainer.”
She was escorted to Embakasi Police Station and booked into custody on March 6, 2026, under OB No. 43/06/03/2026.
In an affidavit filed before Makadara Law Courts Senior Principal Magistrate Paul Rotich, Cpl Misati, the investigating officer, stated that the suspect appeared physically fit at the time of arrest.
“Another individual involved remains at large as detectives continue to pursue her,” the affidavit reads in part.
Cpl Misati requested 21 days’ further detention to conduct forensic analysis, record witness statements, and reconstruct the final moments of the officer’s life. The body is currently at Mashujaa Funeral Home awaiting a postmortem examination to establish the cause of death.
Misati told the court that releasing the suspect at this stage could expose her to possible danger from the deceased’s family members and members of the public.
The magistrate granted the 21-day custody order. The case will be mentioned again on March 30, 2026.
