VIDEO: Armed robber storms Saika salon, terrorises customers in chilling daylight raid

A routine visit to a beauty salon turned into a terrifying ordeal after two armed robbers calmly walked in, pulled out a gun and held staff and customers hostage in a brazen daylight raid captured on CCTV.

The incident unfolded at a salon in Saika, Kasarani, where the two suspects ambushed staff and customers in an attack that has since gone viral on social media.

In the footage seen by TNX Africa, the suspects are seen walking into the salon as unsuspecting women either had their hair done or waited for their appointments.

One of the suspects, wearing a cap and a dark top, briefly greeted those inside before pulling a firearm from his jacket.

"How are you all? Everybody should remain quiet and seated," he says in Kiswahili, as his accomplice, wearing a motorcycle helmet, blocks the entrance to prevent anyone from escaping.

The 35-second clip shows terrified victims ducking and surrendering their valuables, including mobile phones.

One woman manages to dash out through the entrance moments after the robbery begins, while the others remain trapped inside at gunpoint.

After collecting the valuables, the suspects flee the scene.

The shaken women then lock the salon doors and scream for help, shouting "Mwizi!" (Thief!) to alert neighbours and passersby.

The robbery is the latest in a string of brazen daytime attacks targeting businesses across Nairobi.

It comes weeks after security camera footage captured a masked gunman storming a hair salon in Ruaka in broad daylight on Friday, July 10, 2026.

The video, which quickly spread across social media, showed the lone attacker terrorising employees and customers before stealing a mobile phone, firing shots outside to clear his escape route, and fleeing on a waiting motorcycle.

A similar robbery was also reported at a restaurant in Westlands.

The bold nature of these daytime attacks has fuelled growing public concern over security in Nairobi, with many residents calling for tougher law enforcement action and urging businesses to strengthen their security measures.
