A 21-year-old woman has died in a tragic accident in São Paulo, Brazil, after a botched bungee-jumping incident at the “Skeleton Bridge” in Limeira on Saturday, June 13.
Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas was reportedly forced off the platform by event staff before her safety harness was attached to the bungee line, according to reports by The Sun.
Disturbing footage of the incident, which has gone viral, shows two men carrying her onto the jumping platform before pushing her off, despite onlookers shouting that she was not secured.
She fell about 130 feet into a rocky canyon below.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but she was pronounced dead due to severe injuries.
The incident has sparked shock in the local community and raised serious concerns over safety standards in adventure tourism.

Authorities have launched a criminal investigation into the organisers and their safety procedures.
Police have arrested six people, including five men and one woman, linked to the operation.
Investigators are examining whether the company had the required licences and whether staff were properly trained.
Those responsible could face charges including involuntary manslaughter as the investigation continues. The site has since been closed.
The Skeleton Bridge, or Ponte do Esqueleto, is a 130-foot-high decommissioned railway structure straddling the Ribeirão do Tatu river between the municipalities of Limeira and Cordeirópolis.
Originally built for a federal rail line expansion that never actually materialised, the abandoned concrete expanse has sat largely neglected by federal authorities for decades.
Over time, the lack of side railings and safety infrastructure earned the skeletal frame its haunting name, transforming it into a magnet for alternative recreation.
Before the shutdown, the bridge was widely known as a hub for extreme sports and outdoor leisure, drawing crowds from across the state of São Paulo.
Thrill-seekers regularly gathered at the site to participate in rope jumping and pendulum swings over the canyon, often organised by commercial adventure groups operating without formal regulation.
Beyond high-adrenaline sports, the area served as a popular route for local cycling clubs and hikers trekking along the rural trails, despite growing warnings from local officials about the structural hazards.
