Stanley Mulee Mutisya, the look-alike of Lang'ata MP Jalang’o, has shared his regret over meeting the politician following the backlash he has faced since their encounter.

Speaking in an interview with Sauti TV, Mutisya responded to Jalang’o and opened up about the challenges he has faced since gaining attention due to their resemblance.

Mutisya revealed that Jalang’o had promised to help him land a good job, saying, “Yeye mwenyewe alinipromise, saizi mahali ako akona connections so anaweza nilandisha in a good place, so wenye wanasema sina kazi, either unipee hiyo kazi unasema sina nifanye ama… wacha ifike tu hapo,” he said, visibly frustrated.

When asked what had changed in his life since meeting Jalang’o three years ago, Mutisya was blunt.

“Hakuna, ni stress tupu. Ata naregret kupatana na yeye na kuingia kwa show,” he lamented, adding that the negative attention even forced him to close his TikTok account after receiving insults following Jalang’o’s meeting with President Ruto.

Mutisya, who first met Jalang’o in November 2021 during an interview on Jalang'o TV, said that people often mistake him for the MP and ask him for handouts.

However, despite their resemblance, Mutisya claims he has received little support from Jalang’o. “Watu huniita Jalang’o kila mahali wakitaka niwapee kakitu na mimi sina kitu. Alinipea tu Sh1,000. He promised to help me but he never did. It’s now three years down the line. He doesn’t answer my calls,” he shared.

He also mentioned the pressure he faces from his landlord, who questions why he struggles with rent despite looking like an MP. "Mpaka landlord ananiulizanga, 'wewe unakaa MP wa Lang'ata na bado rent unachelewesha.'"

Mutisya further recounted a conversation with his father after he finished school, where his father asked, "Sasa huyu Jalang'o mwenye mnafanana na yeye anakusaidia na nini so far? Kama hawezi kusaidia basi ni wa nini?"

In response to Mutisya’s complaints, Jalang’o dismissed them, saying, “Munajua nacheka nini? Hii ni maajabu! Yaani mkifanana sasa ukuwe responsibility yangu?"

He added, “Ungekuwa unafanana na mimi pia kwa kujituma na kutafuta haungefanya hii interview! So ukiulizwa what do you do for a living… ‘Ooohh nafanana na Jalas!’”

Mutisya then responded by saying, “Hawezi jua kama najituma, nataka kumwambia mimi mwenyewe najituma na kazi na very soon nyota yangu itang’aa. Mungu atanibariki.”

When asked whether he still needs the MP’s help, Mutisya said, “Akiguzwa na roho mtakatifu sio roho mtakakitu, anisaidie na pia kama anafeel asinisaidie coz mi si responsibility yake, basi asinisaidie.”

To those mocking him, Mutisya had a message: “Time yangu yakuomoka inakuja na tukipatana kwa streets uniambie mhesh, ju naona very soon nikiwa mheshimiwa, ukiniambia mhesh tutolee form nitawatolea. Mimi nikiomoka nitasaidia watu sitakua na roho chafu.”

When asked how people can help him, Mutisya replied, “Job poa, unaona kama hizi Jalang’o alikua anafanya za kuadveritse, vitu kama hizo, because mimi naweza muiga venye alikua anafanya zile mitani zake. So sikuwa kwa social media, lakini sasa nimerudi creating my own content, and I think Wakenya wataipenda.”
