Toxic Lyrikali has disclosed that he never planned to attend the State House event where he had been scheduled to perform, revealing that he had declined the invitation several times before eventually agreeing to go.

Speaking in a video shared on the Instagram page of Xtraordinary Podcast, he explained that discussions between different management teams ultimately led to his inclusion in the State House programme despite his initial reluctance.

According to Toxic Lyricali, he had already made up his mind not to participate well before the event took place. However, conversations continued behind the scenes after organisers began reaching out in search of artists who could be contacted and mobilised on short notice for the engagement.

Although he remained hesitant, preparations proceeded and his managers continued working on the arrangements. “I had already refused from that week. I didn’t want to go to the State House.”

The rapper suggested that much of the coordination happened at the management level, which eventually resulted in him being expected to take part in the programme.

Recalling the day of the event, Toxic Lyricali described it as chaotic from the start. Known for enjoying a relaxed lifestyle, he said he had barely woken up when he was informed that he needed to leave immediately.

By then, he explained, he was already late and expected at the venue. “I had just woken up.” “I was rushed in a hurry.”

He remembered being hurried through the preparations as organisers raced against time to ensure everyone arrived according to schedule.

Even after beginning the journey, the rapper said he remained unconvinced about making the trip. He admitted that he spent much of the journey voicing his frustrations, insisting that he would have preferred to stay in his neighbourhood and spend the day relaxing.

“I kept complaining the whole way, I wanted to stay in the area and just relax.”

According to Toxic Lyricali, he repeatedly questioned the need to attend and openly expressed his dissatisfaction throughout the trip.

He eventually agreed to proceed after being assured that the visit would be brief and straightforward. Organisers told him that he would simply greet the President before returning home, a promise that finally persuaded him to stop resisting.

“They told me, ‘Just go, greet the President and return to your area."

With little enthusiasm left to argue, the rapper said he ultimately decided to go along with the plans.

“I just said, ‘Fine, whatever happens, happens."
