PHOTOS: Coast police boss Ali Nuno's son weds in star-studded Mombasa ceremony

Coastal Regional Police Commander Ali Nuno's son, Abdiraqib (Abdi Raqiil) Ali Nuno, tied the knot with Istarlin Abdulmalik in a colourful ceremony attended by top political and government leaders in Mombasa on June 20.

The Nikkah, the sacred Islamic marriage contract, and the Walimatul Arus were held at Emirates Hall in Shimanzi, bringing together family, friends and dignitaries for the celebration.

In social media posts seen by TNX Africa, the couple exchanged their vows before several prominent guests, including Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung'aro, Mombasa's Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir, Mining CS Hassan Joho, UDA SG Hassan Omar, Speaker Amason Kingi and DCI Director Mohamed Amin.

The event blended spiritual significance with festivity, transitioning from the solemnity of the Nikkah to the celebratory Walimatul Arus, or wedding feast.

"Marriage remains one of the strongest foundations of our society, bringing families and communities together through love, commitment and shared responsibility," Nassir wrote on Facebook.

As the couple embark on this new chapter, guests and well-wishers flooded social media with prayers and messages of goodwill.

"Wishing the newlyweds a lifetime filled with love, happiness, blessings and a marriage that continues to flourish for years to come," Mung'aro wrote on X.

Hassan Omar added, "Marriage is a sacred institution that strengthens families and communities. I pray that Allah (SWT) blesses Abdi Raqiil and Istarlin with a loving, peaceful and prosperous union filled with happiness, understanding and abundant barakah."

Photos shared online showed the groom dressed in a flowing black bisht adorned with gold embroidery, worn over a white robe and complemented by a white headscarf secured with a black agal.

A red-and-white floral garland completed the ceremonial look.
