'What's mine is hers': Diamond Platnumz says his mother owns everything he has

At his mother Sandra Kassim’s birthday party, singer Diamond Platnumz spoke warmly about the role she has played in his life. He told guests that everything he owns belongs to his mother.

Using the Swahili phrase “Changu ni chake,” he explained it means “what is mine is hers.”

Diamond said many of his assets are legally registered in his mother’s name. He said this shows the trust and gratitude he feels toward her.

He added that everything he has comes from her prayers and sacrifices. Diamond has often thanked his mother in public. He has talked before about growing up in humble conditions in Tandale, Dar es Salaam.

Back then his family had little, but his mother encouraged him to follow his dreams. Her support helped him keep going when times were hard.

Today Diamond is one of Africa’s most successful musicians. He has many hit songs, has worked with international artists, and has millions of followers on social media.

He also runs business projects, including his record label Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB) and Wasafi Media. Through his label, he has helped launch and support several artists and boosted Tanzania’s music scene.

Videos and photos from the birthday celebration spread quickly online. Many fans praised Diamond for honoring his mother and showing public appreciation for her role in his life.

Guests at the event heard him repeat how central she has been to his personal and professional journey.

By publicly crediting his mother, Diamond reminded fans where his success began: with his mother’s love, guidance, and sacrifices. His words at the party underscored how closely he shares his achievements with the woman who raised him.

Zuchu was nowhere to be seen, as Diamond publicly announced that his mother was his only ‘next of kin’.
