MCSK CEO Ezekiel Mutua on Wednesday met musician Embarambamba to discuss the punishment meted out to him for creating unpalatable content.

Also present was Majority Chief Whip Silvanus Osoro and lawyer Danstan Omari who called for an amicable solution to the matter that has dragged on for weeks.

Mutua said MCSK is not out to stifle creatives but to support them in making clean content and earning from the same.

He added that he was willing to help Embarambamba change his ways although he would still be on MCSK’s radar.

“Embarambamba is a member of MCSK and our desire as an organisation is to see him stop the madness he has been doing in the name of content. He has made a public apology and deleted most of the unpalatable content on his videos on YouTube.

“Now he can use his energy and massive following to create meaningful content. We are willing to help him on this,” said Mutua.

This comes just days after the musician claimed the Kenya Film and Classification Board (KFCB) had directed him to delete his YouTube videos and pay a fine of Sh6.4million.

Mutua said Embarambamba’s case would be reviewed by KFCB as they monitor his commitment to ‘change his ways’.

He, however, maintained that the singer needed help and was hopeful that his energy would be used in more constructive ways.

“Our ultimate goal is to mentor artists like Embarambamba to use their creativity, energy and massive following to contribute meaningfully to national development. We have therefore made the decision to pursue Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) to resolve the issues concerning his unpalatable content as we encourage him to create clean content.

“Everyone deserves a second chance. Embarambamba needs help. Saul turned to Paul and so can Embarambamba. Today, at the behest of the Majority Chief Whip Hon. Silvanus Osoro and Embarambamba's legal team led by Wakili Danstan Omari we have embarked on the journey to help a Embarambamba reform. I hope to God that this guy's energy can be turned into something constructive,” he said.
