A storm is brewing in Baringo County after the Office of the Ombudsman stepped in over a controversial night raid, alleged harassment of residents, and a bitter land dispute
The Office of the Ombudsman has directed the Ministry of Education to scrap the unconstitutional Sh30 premium SMS fee charged to access Grade 10 placement results.
The Ombudsman uncovered extensive corruption after receiving 17 complaints, 12 of which were corruption-related involving officers demanding money in exchange for deployment or official favours.
The Ministry of Education will be required to release the capitation data within 21 days, including the name of school, county, sub-county and ward, as well as the amount of capitation disbursed.
